February 27th: Progress…

‘Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible.’
Frank Zappa

This is a different type of Throwback Thursday! It should have been a re-edit of 2018’s most popular post but, for reasons I can’t explain, that was the one with our cat taken for the humour prompt and I couldn’t think of a way to better it!

So instead, here’s a redo of a 2018 image to show the progress I’ve made as my body has recovered from pregnancy. I’ve actually been pretty terrible at putting on all of the creams that are supposed to help with scars and stretch marks, occasionally rubbing breast milk on them in the early days as I heard an old wives tale about how it can be beneficial.

But without my really doing anything, my stretch marks just faded away. They’re not completely gone but they’re certainly nothing like they used to be! I am getting closer to at least looking like who I used to be…

February 20th: Secret…

‘A picture is a secret about a secret, the more it tells you the less you know.’
Diane Arbus

Throwback Thursday has progress all the way to 2017 to a photo taken on holiday and originally posted in colour to highlight the Decadence of the room…

But can you see the secret sight hidden within the image?

February 13th: Psychedelic…

‘I’m struck by the fact there was nothing supernatural about my heightened perceptions that afternoon, nothing that I needed an idea of magic or a divinity to explain. No, all it took was another perceptual slant on the same old reality,’
Michael Pollan, How to Change Your Mind

For this week’s Throwback Thursday post, I’m updating the second most popular post from 2016 – Passenger! I’ve re-used Hunger, the most popular, too many times and I actually prefer this one so I’m really happy to have got to play with the image again and remember that fantastic day…

The original image remains one of my favourites but I am really pleased with the confused and psychedelic haze of the re-edit!

February 6th: Altered behaviour…

‘To change any behaviour we have to slow down and act intentionally rather than from habit and impulse.’
Henna Inam, Wired for Authenticity: Seven Practices to Inspire, Adapt, & Lead

For Throwback Thursday this year, I’ve decided to look back at my most popular images from 2015-2018, the first 4 years that I took part in Sinful Sunday and shared erotic images (2019 wasn’t a full blogging year so I’m skipping it in this review). Some weeks I’m not using the number 1 most popular image as I’ve thrown it back on a Thursday before, but they’re definitely top 5!

Today’s photo was originally taken in November 2015 and was called ‘The Proper Way to Behave.‘ It’s one of my favourite photos ever but I do like this more focussed edit.

To finish FebPhotoFest 2019, it felt appropriate to finish at the bottom, as it were, with a throwback to a favourite arse photo from last year’s photo series!

February 8th: Bright…

‘We are all like the bright moon, we still have our darker side.’
Kahlil Gibran

This week’s Throwback Thursday looks back to April 2017 to a dark and oppressive photo.

I loved how brightening and reducing the shadows takes so much weight out of the image and completely changes the tone.

February 1st: Bow…

‘Here is a warning: Not all things end up tied with a perfect bow. Sometimes the ribbon frays. Sometimes you get a knot. A very messy one.’

Yay, it’s Feb Photo Fest!! I did this for the first time last year and I loved it! 28 days of photo sharing begins NOW!

And we’re starting on a Thursday so I can begin with one of my favourite parts of this challenge: Throwback Thursday!

My striped shirt is open, exposing my peach coloured bra with big bow...

Here is a photo that I first shared in June 2017 for Smutathon and I love it so I thought I’d give it some tweaks, make it s but moodier and a bit darker, and share it again…

A darker and moodier version, still with a bow!
