Sinful Sunday: 30/40…

‘Breasts are a scandal because they shatter the border between motherhood and sexuality.’
Iris Marion Young

30 weeks!!! This seems like a big milestone…

And my body has carried on changing. I’ve become very aware of my breasts recently – for a start, they’re bigger than ever but I’ve also started reading about what comes next. About breastfeeding and being a mother and how my breasts are going to become important for a completely new reason!

Until then, however, I’m happy to celebrate their new magnificence in a time honoured way!!

Close up of my right breast, adorned with streaks of jizz!

  1. I loved breast feeding, it was the most amazing experience, maybe the most profound thing I ever did as a Mother for my children and it made me feel super human.

    I highly recommend this book

I know it is a bit old but I totally credit this book with my success when it comes to feeding my kids. It made me totally believe I could do it and kept me going through the sore nipples and abundance of milk (the stuff was like everywhere at one point) but she write about it in such a beautifully sensual but also matter of fact way. I thought I still had the book on my shelves and was going to offer to lend it to you but I can’t find it but if you can get a copy I highly recommend it

  3. Breastfeeding is great 🙂 Watching your little squish grow chubbier and chubbier and knowing you’re doing that for her.

But it can also be so hard, if it doesn’t go smoothly. I know this is evil unsolicited advice, but if you haven’t, could I recommend you get to know a lactation consultant before you give birth, so it’s easier to contact them if you need them – it can seem like a hard thing to manage if you’re sleep deprived and sore and worried. Doing a class with the woman I was in touch with was great for me. Helps nip problems in the bud, as it were! And it’s lovely to have an authority you can trust to ask questions of and help you along.

  4. This is a fabulous shot!!

You’ll get lots of advice, coaching, consulting…doing your own research is very wise…do your best, and go with your gut. In the end all that matters is that you do what you feel is best for your baby and you. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t…no matter what, you will give your baby all it needs, LOTS OF YOUR LOVE!!
