Sinful Sunday: And relax…

‘There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them.’
– Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

Today started awkwardly. Suddenly feeling 100 years old, I fell in the bath while having a shower. Later I ran 10 miles, the longest run of my marathon training so far this year. By 9pm, my muscles were aching like they’ve rarely ached before.

I’m not a bath person. I think it may have been over 5 years since my last bath…and that was because the shower was broken! I don’t really get it. Why stew in your own dirt? Doesn’t the water get cold? Isn’t it boring?

But today was different. Today I needed to soak the stiffness and ache away.

Wine, Radox and hot hot water…not so boring after all!

  1. Gorgeous photo, but more importantly DOUBLE FIGURES DOUBLE FIGURES DOUBLE FIGURES! For me the first 10
mile run was such a ‘fucking hell, this is getting serious now’ moment. I hope you enjoyed the afterglow. Good luck with the rest of your training…in another 5 or 6 weeks when you’re closer to 20 or 10 it’ll be a cold bath you’ll be sitting in! Xx

  2. I agree, there is nothing more boring than laying in a bath, although your image is telling me otherwise, and if I do have one I have to ‘clean off’ in the shower afterwards.

  3. I adore spending time in the bath, it’s my time, where my mind can escape the daily grind and I can daydream without restriction.
